Suspect In Police Chase Involved In Crash In Flint Township
A chase from Shiawassee to Genesee County Thursday ended in a crash.
Police say a suspect wanted on a number of felony warrants in Shiawassee County fled from police in his vehicle, ramming several patrol vehicles some time before 4:00 P.M. The suspect headed east, driving at dangerously high speeds, according to police, who called off the pursuit in Clayton Township. The suspect entered Genesse County, driving on Corunna Road, and was involved in a multiple vehicle crash at the intersection with Dutcher Road in Flint Township. Only minor injuries were repoted from those involved in the crash.
Police say the man then fled the scene of the crash on foot, attempting to hide in a nearby wooded area. He was located by canine units with the state police and Flint Township police.
The suspect was handed over to police in Shiawassee County for the warrants, chase, and damaging police property, though he may also face charges in Genesee County for the crash and reckless driving.
