Suspect Charged with Assault of Parents in Midland
After a manhunt put two Midland County schools into secure mode Monday, the assault suspect they were looking for has been charged.
According to police 47-year-old Daniel James assaulted his 67-year-old mother and 72-year-old father at their residence on Woodcock Road in Homer Township around 3:00 Monday morning. Both parents were treated at a local hospital and released. James was arrested around 1:30 p.m. after a traffic stop. He is charged with Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder, Interfering with Electronic Communications Causing Injury or Death, Domestic Violence, and Aggravated Domestic Violence.
According to officials, there was no threat to the public during the search for James, and nearby schools were placed into secure mode as a precautionary measure.
