A 53-year-old man was arraigned in Saginaw County Wednesday, November 27 on bank robbery charges.

George Moat III is accused of robbing the PNC Bank at 5270 Gratiot Rd. in Saginaw Township on Tuesday, November 26 around 3:20 p.m. Moat allegedly demanded money from a teller but did not display a weapon. He was arrested later in the day at a Saginaw residence.

Police are working to determine if Moat is responsible for two other bank robberies, one in Bay County’s Monitor Township on Sunday, November 24 and one on Monday, November 25 at a bank in Montrose.

Moat has served prison sentences previously for breaking and entering and other convictions. If convicted of bank robbery, he’ll face up to life in prison.
