The State Theatre in Bay City has declared bankruptcy and is stopping all operations.
Board Chair Daniel Dimitroff said in a statement on Friday that following a months-long investigation into the theatre’s financial issues, the decision was made to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. With the filing, a trustee is to be appointed to liquidate the organization’s assets to pay its debts.
The statement said that due to an ongoing investigation by the authorities, details could not be released. The decision comes after the firing of former COO Mike Bacigalupo, who is reportedly also under investigation.
