Veterans home bound due to disability or illness and their families in Bay and Midland Counties are the primary focus for Veterans Helping Hands.

The group hopes to establish a food pantry similar to one at Harry Browne Airport near Saginaw at a site still to be determined.

Co-coordinator Cindy Starkweather says a soup supper fundraiser is planned for December 6th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door of Amvets Post 22 at 520 N. Pine Rd. in Hampton Township.

Attendees are requested to bring non-perishable food, personal grooming items or toys for Toys For Tots.
