Some Brave Souls Take A Unique Trip To Benefit A Local Charity

Brent Tyvela and Candice Izzo admit their knees were shaking as they stepped over the edge of the six story, Covenant Health Care’s Mackinaw Center campus on Saturday, June 8. But they called it an exhilarating experience as they rappelled to the ground.
The “Over the Edge” effort was a fund raiser for the United Way of Saginaw County. Each participant raised at least $500 for the United Way for the experience. United Way President Larry Sims said the event had a goal of raising $50,000.
Tyvela was doing it to raise awareness of being a foster parent and Izzo represented UAW Local 668 and the Saginaw PowerTrain plant.
