Snow days are piling up for school districts across Michigan, including Bay City. Supt. Stephen Bigelow said Bay City, like other districts,  had six snow days to start the year before three more days were added. He noted that currently Bay City has used 12 snow days, with more likely to follow. Bigelow said it remains to be seen how state lawmakers will respond to the predicament of Bay City and other Michigan schools, but there is a proposal in the works that would make snow days an exception to state regulations on the  number of required school days per year.

Bay City began its school year before Labor Day and had tentatively scheduled its last day for June 6 or 7, but it looks like that will  be pushed back.
