Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan totalled 32,000 as of Monday. That’s 578 new cases since Sunday. There have been 77 deaths since Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 2,468.
In the Great Lakes Bay Region, Saginaw County has had 419 cases and 29 deaths, Bay County 85 cases and 2 deaths, and Midland County 47 cases and 3 deaths.
The Central Michigan District Health Department has announced the first local deaths from COVID-19 in Arenac and Gladwin Counties. The Gladwin county victim was an elderly woman with underlying health conditions, who was admitted to MidMichigan Health in Gladwin on April 14, and passed away over the weekend. The victim in Arenac County was a middle-aged woman, also with underlying health conditions who was admitted to Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw on April 14. She passed away on Sunday. Statewide, 3,237 people have recovered from COVID-19.
