Sentencing Delayed for Man Convicted in Saginaw Township Police Shooting
The courtroom was full Wednesday for the scheduled sentencing of Joshua Rosebush, convicted last month of 26 felonies in connection with the shooting of Saginaw Township Police Officer Jeff Koenig. Saginaw County Circuit Judge Andre Borrello agreed to delay the sentencing, after Rosebush’s attorney made the request for several reasons, including sentencing guidelines. Saginaw County Assistant Prosecutor Blair Stevenson objected to the postponement, saying a number of people had come to give victim impact statements.
Rosebush shot Koenig in January during a traffic stop. Koenig suffered serious injuries to his jaw and shoulder area. Rosebush fled the scene and was later arrested in Shiawasssee County, where he was shot by a sheriff’s deputy.
A new date for sentencing was not immediately announced.
