Saginaw’s Handley Elementary Delays First Day Over Construction Issues

Handley Elementary School in Saginaw is delaying the start of their school year due to construction issues.

In a statement released by the school, the delay is caused by construction supply issues with the central components of the electrical system, inspection timeliness, weather delays affecting teacher supply delivery and furniture assembly, and classroom readiness. The school now has a start date of September 5, which will impact other dates on the schedule throughout the year, though the school says it will notify families of any adjustments to the schedule as they arise.
