A Saginaw Township teen is credited with saving the life of an unconscious woman Friday, February 26.

17-year-old Joshua Wilkins, a student at Heritage High School and the Saginaw Career Complex, was driving in a mobile home community when he saw the woman lying on the side of the curb. She was not breathing and had no pulse. Wilkins called 9-1-1 and began CPR, having learned it at the career complex medical academy. A passing motorist retrieved an AED from the community’s clubhouse, which Wilkins used to revive the woman. An ambulance arrived and transported her to a local hospital. Her condition is unknown.

Wilkins says he will attend Delta College and then the University of Michigan to become a cardiac surgeon.
