Saginaw Township Man Charged after Allegedly Writing Threatening Message
A Saginaw Township man faces a misdemeanor charge for allegedly putting a threatening message on a political sign last month.
50-year-old Andrew Reel was arraigned on one charge of molesting or disturbing a person in pursuit of their occupation. Prosecutors say Reel placed political signs near the former Sears building at Bay and Tittabawassee Roads. A worker contracted to maintain the grounds saw the signs and removed them on July 27th, but the next day found them back in place with a handwritten note attached.
The note reportedly claimed the signs’ owner was armed and had cameras watching the area. The worker took the signs to the Saginaw Township Police Department, where police say Reel later went to claim the signs, admitting that he had written the note. He was initially arrested for making a terroristic threat, though the charge was lowered after a review by prosecutors.
