Saginaw Police Investigate Early Morning Homicide

A 51-year-old Saginaw woman is dead after a shooting at 2522 Hadley early Friday morning. Saginaw Police responded to the home about 2:45 a.m. after a 911 call. Officers found Avele Mack suffering from at least one gunshot wound and attempted life-saving measures along with paramedics from MMR, but she as pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators from Saginaw Police Major Crimes Unit, made up of Saginaw and Michigan State Police detectives, responded and interviewed a 70-year-old male suspect, who is related to the victim. The suspect was arrested, and is in the Saginaw County Jail pending review and possible charges from the Saginaw County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police said the incident is being investigated as a domestic-related homicide. It’s the 2nd homicide in the City of Saginaw for 2021.
