Saginaw Offers Prayers, Support To Those Affected By The Latest Mass Shootings

While it’s 1,700 miles to El Paso and 283 miles to Dayton Ohio, about two dozen Saginaw area residents gathered Monday, August 5 to support the relatives and friends of 31 people killed in two weekend shootings.

The group gathered as the Saginaw area is no stranger to gun violence. Barbara Clark represents the Saginaw Chapter Parents of Murdered Children offering support to those left behind. She recalled how her 17-year-old son was killed in 1998 by a 16-year-old boy who felt jilted when his girl friend left him for Clark’s son.

Clark and the others held a candle light vigil in Borchard Park. The group marched silently across the Court Street Bridge to the Celebration Square and back.
