Saginaw Man Sentenced to Prison for Sex Crimes against Children

A Saginaw man will spend nearly 20 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting a minor.

Eric Hartman was sentenced last week in federal court after pleading guilty earlier this year to charges of sexual exploitation and attempted sexual exploitation of a minor. Police learned of the activity after a 13-year-old girl came forward last year, accusing Hartman of threatening her and forcing her to send sexually explicit images and videos to him online. The FBI began an investigation, where they discovered multiple instances of Hartman requesting sexually explicit material from minors, as well as other sexually abusive material on his electronic devices.

Hartman was sentenced to 19.5 years , plus will have five years supervised release after he gets out of prison.
