Saginaw Man Charged in 2020 Death of Toddler

A 55-year-old Saginaw man has been arraigned on a charge of homicide-involuntary manslaughter after an investigation into the death of 3-year-old Paris Sharpe. An autopsy determined the little girl died of asphyxia by suffocation in September 2020.

A Michigan State Police investigation found the child was sleeping on a couch when John Edward Graves, who was an overnight guest in the family’s apartment, sat on her, causing her death. Detectives said Graves had been drinking.
