A two-month-old baby girl is in critical condition at Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor for extensive child abuse.

Police arrested the girl’s father, 25-year-old Taylor Cantu of Saginaw, on Thursday, June 27. The suspect and the girl’s mother took her to Covenant Healthcare Monday, June 24 for “seizure-like symptoms,” but the baby had to be airlifted to the University of Michigan hospital. Investigators say the baby suffered fractured arms, ribs and legs, plus bleeding on her brain and both eyes.

Cantu is charged with first degree child abuse. He’s being held in the Saginaw County Jail on a $250,000 bond and has a preliminary hearing July 9.
