Staff at the new Great Lakes Bay Health Center on Davenport Ave. in Saginaw say they’re optimistic the tide can be turned in the battle against opioid abuse, both locally and nationwide.

Manager of Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorders Services Gail McGee says they treat both mental health and substance abuse issues in patients. Opioids are NOT part of the treatment which utilizes alternatives like modified acupuncture, electrical stimulation and physical therapy.

She spoke prior to a Wednesday, July 24 open house.
