Saginaw County Sheriff Announces Arrest Related To Weekend Homicide

Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel says an arrest has been made in connection with the weekend murder of 60-year-old David Erdmann found dead at his home in the 13700 block of South Merrill Road from multiple gunshot and stab wounds.

Federspiel says Erdmann’s 39-year-old son Patrick faces murder related charges after being arrested by State Police in the Ann Arbor area Sunday morning for driving the wrong way on I-94.

Authorities found David Erdmann dead early Sunday afternoon.

Federspiel says the father and son had argued Saturday evening at David Erdmann’s residence before the son left.

At David Erdmann’s request, sheriff’s deputies checked Patrick Erdmann’s home in the 15000 block of West Gary Road. Authorities found the door open, but no one home and no vehicle in the driveway.

Federspiel explained the investigation is continuing and anyone with information regarding the dispute that led to the killing is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
