Saginaw County Jail Inmate Accused of Soliciting the Killing of Witnesses Against Him
A man accused of sex crimes against children is facing new charges for allegedly attempting to have witnesses killed.
Alex Gomez, Jr., who is currently lodged in the Saginaw County Jail, is charged with solicitation of murder. According to prosecutors, Gomez contacted a number of people in November while he was an inmate to try and have the family and victim of his accusers murdered.
Gomez was charged with first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl for a lengthy amount of time, according to police, and is also accused of sexually assaulting the girl’s older sister, who is now an adult. The girl’s mother allegedly caught Gomez in the act. He was arrested in June.
Gomez was previously convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person 13 or younger in 2005 and has convictions for assault, carrying a concealed weapon and embezzlement.
