Saginaw Appoints New Fire Chief

The city of Saginaw has appointed its interim fire Chief as the Chief of the fire department.

Brandon Hausbeck has been with the department for 14 years and became acting Fire Chief last September, following the retirement of Chief Tom Raines. Hausbeck graduated from Delta College with a degree in Fire Science and from Northwood Uniersity with a bachelors degree in Applied Management. He joined the department in 2009 and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2016. In 2018, he was appointed the Department Training and Safety Officer. Hausbeck serves as the Saginaw County Coordination Team Leader and the Department Grant Coordinator. He has also assisted Human Resources in recruitment.

Throughout his Fire Department career, Hausbeck has received numerous commendations, including the 2014 Firefighter of the Year, the 100 Club of Saginaw County Silver Chalice Award, four Unit Citations, and two Meritorious Service Commendations.
