A boy who died of a gunshot wound in October at a Burton residence may have been playing Russian Roulette, according to police.

On October 24, police were called to a home on Packard Avenue, where they found a juvenile male with a single gunshot wound to the head. The boy was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say other unidentified people in the home were playing the suicidal game when the boy was shot.

Police also discovered stolen items in the home during the investigation and believe the residents are responsible for an unknown number of larcenies and burglaries. No criminal charges have been filed in the boy’s death but the case is under review at the Genesee County Prosecutors office.
