Robbery Suspect In Gladwin County Leads Police on Vehicle Chase

A man suspected of robbery in Gladwin Wednesday, December 9 led police on a chase into Midland County.

Police were dispatched to the Beacon & Bridge convenience store at 111 S. M-18 around 5:45 a.m. for a report of a robbery. The cashier told police a suspicious man purchased an item before leaving, then came back in the store to demand cash. He left with between $100-150 dollars in a Dodge pickup truck.

The truck was spotted in an area of S. Bard Road where police attempted a traffic stop. The suspect fled the scene, leading police on a chase into Midland County. He was stopped and arrested without incident at Six Mile and Miller roads. Police say the truck he was driving was reported stolen from Isabella County.

The suspect was taken to Mid Michigan Medical Center-Midland for an evaluation before being lodged in the Gladwin County Jail.
