Remembering John Gilmore, Jr.

A former Bridgeport and Buena Vista public servant has passed away at the age of 93.

John “Bud” Gilmore, Jr. was born September 24, 1928 in Saginaw and graduated from Saginaw High School in 1946. He went on to work as a milk delivery driver for Gilmour Dairy. He married his wife Shirley Bean in 1948, who died in 2008. He was formerly employed as the Bridgeport Township Clerk, Bridgeport Township Supervisor, Buena Vista Township Manager, and retired in 1991 as the Bridgeport Township Manager.

Bud was a charter member of the Bridgeport Lions Club and Bridgeport Historical Society. He also served as a member of the Bridgeport Fire Department, Saginaw County Fair Board of Directors, Michigan Township Association Board of Directors, Saginaw County Board of Supervisors and Chairman and a longtime member of the Anderson Foundation. He was a faithful member of Bridgeport Community Church.

Funeral services are Tuesday, August 2 at 11:00 A.M. at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel at 5700 Dixie Highway. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday at 10:00 A.M.
