Recreation Passport Fees Increasing March 1

Recreation passport resident vehicle fees are going up a dollar starting March 1.

The Michgan DNR announced the increase last Friday. The passport provides year round access to more than 100 state parks and recreation areas, more than one thousand state-managed boating access sites, 140-plus state forest campgrounds, and parking at thousands of miles of trails and other outdoor spaces. Recreation Passports are typically purchased when residents renew their vehicle’s license plates.

The fees will increase from $12 to $13 for vehicles, $6 to $7 for motorcycles and from $24 to $26 for two year vehicle registrations.
