Public Libraries of Saginaw Announce COVID Closures

The Public Libraries of Saginaw made the following announcement on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020:

All branches of the Public Libraries of Saginaw will be closing for three weeks to comply with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ recent epidemic order announced Sunday night. Wickes Library, 1713 Hess, is closed, effective immediately, through Dec. 9.

The Local History and Genealogy area at Hoyt Library, 505 Janes, is also closed to the public, effective Monday, Nov. 16. Online and phone service is still available at (989) 755-9827 or [email protected]. In person services will resume when the library reopens in December.

All other branches and in-person services will be shutting down at the end of the day on Tuesday, Nov. 17. Butman-Fish Library, 1716 Hancock, will close at 7 p.m. Hoyt Library will close at 8 p.m., and Zauel Library, 3100 N. Center, will close at 9 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to pick up hold requests or come in to apply for a new library card before then.

Online programming, such as book clubs, storytimes, and the upcoming NaNoWriMo webinar will continue on the library’s website and Facebook page.

Other online services, such as eBooks, audiobooks, movies, magazines, academic enrichment activities and more will still be available 24/7 at www.saginawlibrary.org.
