Police are providing tips for mailboxes to deter would be thieves.
In its weekly safety tip, the Frankenmuth Police Department reminds residents criminals will take a person’s mail, typically looking for money. To keep your paper trail of everyday financial transactions from would be thieves, never put outgoing mail in your mailbox overnight, especially if it contains checks. When using a collection box, don’t deposit mail after the last pickup of the day. Limit personal information on your checks to name and address. And finally, help stop mail theft by reporting it.
