Power of a Promise Fundraiser to Benefit Saginaw Promise
Saginaw Promise will host its annual “Power of a Promise” Fundraiser at Saginaw United High School Tuesday and will highlight Saginaw Promise outcomes and scholar attainment numbers. Since 2012, Saginaw Promise has awarded more than $1.3 million in scholarships to 728 scholars.
Dr. Phillip J. Bowman serves as this year’s keynote speaker. Bowman is a product of the Saginaw Public School District and a 1966 graduate of Saginaw High School. He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan where he was Founding Director of the National Center for Institutional Diversity and has held faculty positions in Social Psychology, Higher Education, and African American and African Studies.
The event will also feature building tours (before and after the program), a buffet dinner, auction, entertainment and more. Doors open at 4:45 P.M. for tours, with program starting at 6:00 P.M. Visit saginawpromise.org for event details and tickets.
