Police Step Up Traffic Enforcement of Distracted Driving
In support of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April, law enforcement agencies in several Michigan communities will take part in a 4-hour distracted driving enforcement and awareness initiative Thursday, April 7.
“Connect to Disconnect” will take place as part of the national “U Drive. U Text. U Pay” media campaign, which reminds drivers about the dangers and consequences of distracted driving and runs Thursday through Monday. The goals of “Connect to Disconnect” are to demonstrate a nationwide commitment to enforcing texting and distracted driving laws and to reduce traffic crashes caused by distracted drivers.
Participating law enforcement agencies include Thomas Township Police, Mount Pleasant Police and the Mount Pleasant State Police Post, plus Grand Blanc Township Police.
