Police Search Places Two Schools in Secure Mode

Two schools in Midland County were put into secure mode Monday while police searched for an assault suspect.

Around 10:40 a.m. Midland County Central Dispatch advised that police were in the area of Woodcock and Miller Road looking for the suspect, who was described as a white male in his 30s with red hair and wearing a long sleeve black shirt and jeans.

Bullock Creek Middle and Pine River Elementary Schools were put in secure mode as a precaution.

Officials say there is no known threat to the public, and are asking anyone who sees the suspect to call 911.
