Police Investigating Overturned Salt Truck in Tuscola County

No injuries were reported after a salt truck overturned in Tuscola County’s Ellington Township Wednesday.

Police say a 2016 Kenworth semi hauling double trailers, loaded with 50 tons of salt was traveling east on Deckerville Road. A white pickup heading west entered the semi’s lane. The semi driver, a 29-year-old Pinconning man, swerved to avoid the the pickup, but the rear trailer jackknifed causing the semi to lose control. The semi entered the ditch on the south side of Deckerville Road and tipped over.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to submit a tip to the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department at tuscolacounty.org/sheriff.
