Police Investigate Saginaw’s 10th Homicide of 2024

A 25-year-old man was shot and killed during a large gathering of people in Saginaw’s Old Town early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the 100 block of South Hamilton Street around 1:45 A.M. to try and disperse the crowd, which they described as disorderly. While on the scene, police say several gunshots were fired in the 100 block of North Hamilton. State police troopers found Daquan Mims of Saginaw suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police say a 24-year-old man also received a minor injury and was treated and released from a local hospital. No suspects are in custody at this time.
