Police Identify Body of Woman Reported Missing In September

The body of a woman missing since early September has been found in Mount Morris Township.
57-year-old Karen Wilcox was last seen September 8 in the area of Pierson and Clio Roads and was reported missing on September 14. Police discovered her body November 7 in a wooded area of Pierson Road near Minerva Drive.
Wilcox’s remains were difficult to identify due to an advanced stage of decomposition, according to the Genesee County Medical Examiner’s office. It has also made it difficult to determine the exact cause of her death. Her remains have been sent to a skeletal trauma expert at Michigan State University for further examination.
