Poaching Suspect Sought in Isabella County

Police in Isabella County are asking for the public’s help locating a poaching suspect.

Police say two deer were illegally harvested from Zelda’s Ranch in Chippewa Township. According to police, a hole was cut in the fence surrounding the property of the private ranch, and a buck was shot and killed with its body left but its head missing. State police troopers investigating the case say the buck was a trophy, worth more than $25,000.

Police say the poaching case isn’t the first of its kind at Zelda Ranch, as a similar incident took place this past January. Police are asking anyone with informantion about the incident to call the Mount Pleasant State Police post at (989) 773-5951.
