Pedestrian Killed in US-10 Crash Identified
Police have identified a woman killed on US-10 on Monday.
24-year-old Crystal Beaston of Saint Helen died after being struck by a Ford F-550 work truck while walking between the merge and slow eastbound lanes of the highway at the M-47 interchange. Police say she was wearing dark clothing and was without a cell phone or ID at the time of the crash, which occurred around 6:00 A.M.
According to police, foul play is not suspected in her presence on the highway and they don’t believe she intentionally put herself in harms way. The two men in the truck were not injured.
Beaston was also a victim of a car crash several years ago which left her in a coma for three months with a brain injury, requiring her to relearn many simple tasks.
A memorial service is planed for Friday, the day of her 25th birthday, at Faith Alive Church in Saint Helen at 6:00 P.M.
