Pat’s Perfect NFL Picks–Week Three Edition

Here’s the Week Three edition of the “Pat’s Perfect NFL Picks Podcast” from WSGW’s First Day.

It’s now time for the most exciting three minutes in Sunday news-talk radio across this great land. That’s right, it’s time for the Week Three edition of “Pat’s Perfect NFL Picks” on WSGW’s First Day!

After a dismal 0-3 opening week record, I rebounded, somewhat, by winning two of three in Week Two. I told you the Vikings would win their home opener against the rival Packers. They did. I told you Houston would grind-out a tough victory over the Chiefs. They did. However, I foolishly put my hopes in the Detroit Lions, who in pure Lions folklore, lost in despicable fashion to the lowly Tennessee Titans at home.

My record is now a less than desirable 2-4. It’s time to go perfect and rise above the .500 mark.

Here are my Week Three picks!

We begin in Buffalo where the 0-2 Bills hope to get their first win of the year against the Super Bowl contending Arizona Cardinals. Arizona played a horrible season-opener against a Tom Brady-less New England Patriots squad, but they rebounded by blowing-out the Buccaneers last Sunday. Sometimes, good teams need a wake-up call, and perhaps the Cardinals got it in Week One. Buffalo is in shambles. The offense can’t move the ball. The defense can’t make stops. Despite this game being in Buffalo, expect a big day for the Cardinals.

Give me the Cardinals OVER the Bills 31-14!

The Denver Broncos have played better than expected with a first-year quarterback. They’re 2-0 while relying on their defense to carry them, which isn’t such a bad thing. The Broncos visit the Cincinnati Bungles, who yet again, fell short against their division rival Proud Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bungles are still the Bungles, but they get to play in front of their home crowd for the first time this year. They also have a very good defense, and the Broncos’ running game is less effective on the road. Home field advantage plays a big role in this one.

Give me the Bungles OVER the Broncos–27-21!!

And finally, your Detroit Lions–fresh-off a pitiful home opening loss–visit the struggling Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The Lions are a walking infirmary heading into this afternoon’s tilt. They’re linebacking corps is diminished with injuries, and the Lions won’t have running back Ameer Abdullah for a while due to a sprained foot. The Packers haven’t looked like a well-oiled machine on offense. But if you’re struggling on offense, invite the Lions into town! They can be the perfect elixir, and that’s how it’s going to be for Aaron Rodgers and his offense. This is going to be ugly.

Give me the Packers OVER the Lions–44-4!!!

That’s the Week Three edition of Pat’s Perfect NFL Picks on WSGW’s First Day.
