Paraglider Unhurt After Engine Malfunction

A Florida man was uninjured after a crashing a paraglider in a Frankenmuth corn field Saturday, July 17.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the 7200block of S. Block Rd. around 8:15 p.m. The man, in his 60s, told responders he felt a belt break in the engine of the craft, which caused it to lose power. Fortunately, the parachute enabled a soft landing in the field.

The man refused medical attention. The Federal Aviation Administration will determine if an investigation is warranted.
