One Week, One Street Returns to Saginaw June 24-28
Next week, the city of Saginaw will host its One Week, One Street Street Neighborhood Revitalization Project to help clean up a Saginaw neighborhood.
The intensive week-long event, from June 24 – 28, will focus efforts on revitalizing Collingwood Avenue between Hess Avenue and Webber Street. During the project week, volunteers will complete upgrades including porch repairs, planting of trees and flowers, installation of gutters, deep cleaning and removal of litter and graffiti, along with minor landscaping, exterior painting and repair work for Collingwood residents’ homes. In addition to the physical improvements, the program coordinates with local groups to provide supplementary services like affordable home repair, budgeting assistance, job training and more.
A neighborhood block party will cap off the week’s accomplishments June 26 from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. The community is encouraged to get involved by volunteering for the event daily from 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. For more information and to volunteer, please email [email protected].
