One Injured In Genesee Township Crash
Police in Genesee Township responded to a crash Wednesday involving two pickup trucks.
Police say around 9:55 a.m., a 49-year-old Shiawassee man driving a 2018 GMC Sierra was heading east on Court Street, proceeding through the intersection at Genesee Road with the green light. However, he struck a 2020 Chevy Silverado driven by a 31 year old Genesee Township man, who police say was heading south at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic with its flashing lights activated and ran the red light. The Silverado lost control and crashed into the pillars of the overpass at the intersection, then caught fire. Police were able to extract the man from the vehicle. He was taken to Hurley Medical Center with critical injuries.
The Sierra driver and two passengers were unhurt.
