Nexteer Considers Layoffs As Strike Continues

As the United Auto Worker strike continues against General Motors, plants and businesses tied to the auto industry are beginning to announce layoffs, including Nexteer Automotive in Buena Vista Township.

Company officials announced the layoff as production has slowed down due to the strike, though the number of layoffs is unspecified and there’s no indication when they’ll take place.

Nexteer says in a statement the slowed production means it will have to temporarily reduce its workforce but the goal is to return to full production as quickly as possible.
