New Observatory Planned For Main Delta College Campus

The west part of the main Delta College campus will soon be home to a domed observatory with a 28″  reflecting telescope for students and visitors wanting to look deep into the universe.

Delta Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy Kevin Dehne  says the site would be open to the public and ADA compliant.

Dehne added construction of the estimated $1,200,000 facility which would include utility connections could begin next year with the site not far from the new baseball field and sharing restroom facilities.

Dehne discussed the project as part of the Board of Trustees dinner meeting Tuesday.
