New Chief Elected to Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe has selected its new tribal chief.

In a special board meeting Tuesday, Chief Judge Michelle Horn administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected council, which elected Tim Davis as the new tribal chief. Lucas Sprague will fill the role of Sub-Chief, Jennifer Wassegijig was elected secretary and the tribal treasurer is  Maia Spotted Tail.

Christina Otto was elected to serve as the Sergeant-At-Arms and Alice Jo Ricketts will remain as Tribal Chaplain. Brad Bennett, Samantha Chippeway, Frank Cloutier (District III Representative), David Merrill Jr., Ron Nelson (District II Representative), and Theresa Peters Jackson are the other elected Tribal Council members that will serve alongside the newly seated Executive Council.
