New Amenities Planned For Bay City State Park

New amenities and connections are being considered for Bay City State Park in Bangor Township.
That includes multiple alternatives for a link to the Iron Belle Bike Trail running from Detroit’s Belle Isle to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A public input session at the Township Hall Thursday discussed proposed additions including more restrooms and pathways plus elevated observation decks. County officials want more beach access.
The state will receive a final report from Pontiac based Nowak and Fraus Engineering in about 60 days. But it’s unclear when the state would act on it.
