National Night Out Strengthens Bond Between Police, Community
Area residents will have a chance to interact with their community’s emergency responders during the 20th annual National Night Out Tuesday evening.
Celebrated by thousands of communities across the US, the event aims to build strong and positive relationships between police and members of the community they serve. Police in Saginaw Township will celebrate the event at the Saginaw Township Soccer Complex from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. The event will feature police, fire, and other emergency responders, along with the tools and vehicles they use on a daily basis. Non-profit volunteers will be on hand to provide a carnival atmosphere with bounce houses and obstacle courses for children, along with face painting, games, prizes, a D.J. and free fun for kids of all ages.
Again this year, the department has partnered with Field Neurosciences Institute (FNI) to custom fit bike helmets for children. 300 helmets will be available for toddlers (older than one), children, and teens for free. And more than 30 boy’s and girl’s bikes will be given away in a free raffle.
