MSP Quickly Catches Vassar Mobile Home Break-In Suspect
Michigan State Police from the Caro Post responded shortly before midnight Thursday night to a home invasion in the Wood Valley Mobile Home Park, 4 miles south of Vassar.
Tuscola County central dispatch says two children were home when a male subject opened the window to their bedroom from the outside and attempted to climb in.
The children immediately woke up their mother, who ran outside to find footprints by the window and a sandal in the road nearby.
A neighbor observed the suspect leaving from the area, describing him as a white male with long black hair, in a red shirt and black coat.
On arrival, Troopers found a man matching the description walking through the mobile home park.
Both the neighbor and the children confirmed the man’s identity as the person who tried breaking in.
Investigation showed the 22 year old man had several active arrest warrants, was highly intoxicated on alcohol and drugs, and was a resident of a nearby mobile home in the park.
He was taken to the Tuscola County jail for Unlawful Entry to an Occupied Residence, and multiple for counts of Resisting and Obstructing Police Officers.
