MPSC Wants Public Input on Power Outages

The Michigan Public Service Commission is holding a series of town hall meetings to discuss upgrading Michigan’s power grid following two winter storms which left hundreds of thousands of residents and businesses without power for several days.

The Commission is holding the meetings to give Michiganders a chance to share directly with state regulators their experiences during and after the storms, as well as a chance to hear about what steps the MPSC is taking to address reliability. The first meeting will take place on March 20 from noon to 2:30 at the American 1 Credit Union Event Center in Jackson. The second will be held at Fordson High School’s auditorium in Dearborn that same day from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. A virtual meeting will be live streamed on Microsoft Teams March 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A link will be posted shortly on michigan.gov/mpsc.

Written comments also may be submitted to the commission by mail to Executive Secretary, Michigan Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 30221, Lansing, MI 48909, or by email to [email protected].
