Motorcyclist Dies a Week After Midland County Crash
A motorcyclist has died from injuries he suffered nearly a week after a collision with a pickup truck. The Midland County Sheriff’s office said just after 7:30 p.m., Monday, September 27, 44-year-old Jason Gransden of Gladwin County was heading north on N. Eastman Road when his motorcycle collided with a southbound Chevrolet Silverado. The sheriff’s office said the truck failed to yield the right-of way while turning left into a business parking lot, in front of the motorcycle.
Gransden was wearing a helmet, but was thrown from the motorcycle and hospitalized at MidMichigan Medical Center in critical condition. He died Sunday, Oct. 3. The other driver was not injured hurt.
The Midland County Sheriff’s office is waiting for toxicology reports to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. A report will be sent to the Midland County Prosecutor’s Office for review
