Mother’s Boyfriend Charged in Child’s Death

A suspect has been formally charged with murder in the death last week of a 1-year-old boy.

Twenty-five-year-old Brandon Mannie was arraigned in Saginaw County District Court Monday, July 15 for the murder of Darryn Mann, who died on July 10 at his home in the 2800 block of N. Michigan in Carrollton Township.

Investigators said Mannie was the boyfriend of the child’s mother and lived with the family. The cause of the child’s death has not yet been released, but investigators said the mother called police and officers found the boy dead when they arrived.

State Department of Corrections records indicate Mannie was released from prison this past February after serving time for unarmed robbery.
