Monday Music Minute–Iron Butterfly

Here’s the “Monday Music Minute” with WSGW News Reporter, Hilary Farrell.

Hils featured the classic Iron Butterfly jam, “In A Gadda Da Vida.”  Click below to hear her intro to the song, which you originally heard on yesterday’s edition of WSGW’s First Day with Pat Johnston & Hilary Farrell.

And no, we didn’t play the full 17-minute song, but you can hear the eight-minute single at the end of the post.

Oh, and special thanks to our listeners for correcting my mistake regarding the story of the song’s title.  I couldn’t exactly recall how the group came-up with the name, “In A Gadda Da Vida.”  Thankfully, our listeners quickly reminded us that the original title was supposed to be “In the Garden of Eden.”  But due to some…chemical influences…”In the Garden Of Eden” somehow became the “In A Gadda Da Vida.”

Ah, the 60’s!
