Mio Man Accused of Sexual Assault by Second Victim, More May Come Forward

State Police have opened a third investigation into an elderly Mio man after two people have accused him of criminal sexual conduct.

In August 2021, a medical coordinator from the Northern Michigan Child Advocacy Center reported an assault by 82-year-old Richargd Walser. He was arrainged on multiple criminal sexual conduct charges and home invasion.

Walser was arrested again last Thursday and charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, gross indecency between male and female – committing/procuring, and criminal sexual conduct assault with intent to commit sexual penetration after a second sexual assault victim came forward. Police say there may be an additional victim.

Walser is being held in the Oscoda County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
